The category of Medical Dermatology is broad and includes everything from skin checks to rashes and acne. We do it all! Our Dermatologist, Dr. Egbers, is a board certified Dermatologist with the American Board of Dermatology, and trained at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, one of the top dermatology residency programs.
In many cases, after examination and discussing your history, the doctor is able to determine the diagnosis. Sometimes, after evaluation initial evaluation, a small sample of skin called a biopsy is needed to help differentiate between the different possibilities.
After figuring out the diagnosis, the team will work with you on developing a treatment plan that works for you. We understand that different things may work for different people. We use all tools available to treat your skin condition. Sometimes treatments are prescription or non-prescription, a topical cream or a systemic medication, traditional medical or alternative, and sometimes none of the above. Remember that just because a treatment is over-the-counter, doesn’t mean that it isn’t powerful or an important part of the plan.
